Verified ReviewerScammed out of my clothing items
On 4/16 I mailed 10 toddler outfits to a lady in Ga. On 4/19 the lady said she received them but only 2 of the outfits were in the bag, the bag was busted, items were thrown all over the porch.she provided pictures of the unopened package that was clearly full with the 20 pieces.
She also provided a picture of the bag that she opened. Mercari sided with the buyer & is allowing her to only mail back the 2 outfits. So I am out the rest of the outfits. Even tho I provided information on how I shipped the item sealed & taped in a poly mailer.
I have proof from the PO that the package I sent weighted 5lbs & 2.9ozs. Even tho her picture clearly shows the bag is sealed when she received it, Mercari still sided with the buyer. They also have zero ways for me to contact the company. So the only way you can get in touch with anyone is thru chat & even then it takes them hours to respond, when they do respond it is in general they don't address the real issue.
Do not sell with this company. They do not protect the seller at all.
I am providing pictures of the items, how she received the package, how full the package is, how the top item is the last item I placed in the package & it still at the top of the package. I'm also including a picture of the receipt from the PO where I shipped the items.

Mercari doesn't have a phone number; everything is done by email. Mercari wants me to go all around God's creation to get an authentication letter for my counterfeit item.
This is absolutely the worst customer service and policies. All I can say is, I never dealt with any of this that Mercari is requesting with eBay!

I have been a member over Mercari for several years and have generally been a satisfied user until recently. In my last 3 purchases over the last month and a half I have had issues with two of them that their customer service has been inept at addressing.
For the first of the two orders that had issues my item arrived damaged i immediately reached out to Mercari about this but they failed to respond within the 72 hour window they provide buyers to report and handle an issue. I was seeking a partial refund as the order had been a set and most of the set had been alright. But they failed to respond and I had to bring PayPals customer support in before they even attempted to rectify the issue. The second order I had an issue with involved a seller that I was unaware was using a stock image.
Mercari does not allow the use of just stock images per their own policies. When I submitted a request to return the item they denied my request and did not allow me to rate that seller to warn others about this sellers practices that breaks Mercaris own policies. Mercari customer support, while more responsive than the first transaction I had issue with, has been less than helpful.
I have asked them five separate times to explain how a listing using stock photos which they dont allow is consider as described and they have failed each and every time asked to answer that question. I will no longer be selling or shopping on Mercari and I would advise any who continue to use their services to beware as they dont have their customers best interests in mind and go against their own policies.

Yes, I ordered 6 candles and they completely melted. They are ruined and I already talked to the seller.
They said either I could return them or just get a refund and they would give my money back. I wanted to see what I needed to do.

Damaged package

No help with returning purchase delivered broken!
I purchased a lamp.., $81.79 after taxes and shipping. The lamp was delivered broken.
I reached out to the seller no help. Told me to request a return. I did that days ago and have heard nothing from the seller or mercari customer service.
I will not order from mercari again! I will not recommend mercari!

Hi there, I was ordered one of the shoes size 6.5 but the seller sending me wrong size was 5.5, and I requested for return. The Mercari sending me the tracking number, was shipping out the items was September 24th but someone reason thats tracking number cannot tracking, and I get hold the seller, and she say she already received it but the seller cannot confirm accept.

Dear, who it may concern,
My last order was a ray ban sunglasses. Seller mentioned some scratches.
I ordered. When received the item it has some scratches I dont mind but it has scratches on the glass. Which seller failed to mention. There for I want to return.
Seller may be cunning that is why he didnt display the original photo of the item. I am really disappointed. All I want is return the money or send me the same sunglasses which has no scratches on the glass.

I ordered and received my vintage McCoy strawberry jar with a lid. The only thing that wasn't broken was the lid.
I reached out to Mercari, sent pictures as they requested, and they told me my refund was credited. Several days later, I still haven't received my refund.
I have tried repeatedly to reach someone at Mercari through their toll-free number, but all I get is, "I'm sorry. We have nobody to help you in your area!" There is no help online either.

I made this purchase on 9-8-24 around 03:58 in the morning. I contacted the seller around 8 or 9 that morning to ask to cancel my purchase.
I contacted Mercari. I was advised that they contacted the seller and if they don't respond by 9-9-24, they would give me a refund. The seller didn't respond and now it's showing shipped, but there is no way you can ship out Sunday. I need help.
I just want my refund. The seller is not responding nor is Mercari.

Mercari allowed the seller to scam me. The buyer sent the wrong sandals.
I didn't know where the sandals came from because I didn't order them. I was waiting for my sandals to arrive. The seller asked me if I had received the sandals yet, and I said no. When I realized they were the wrong sandals, I messaged the seller and Mercari.
The seller then tried to conduct the trade outside of Mercari. She wanted me to pay to ship her shoes back, then she said she would send mine back. This is not fair. I contacted Mercari and they wouldn't step in.
The seller was hostile and rude. She blocked me, and I still don't have my sandals. She kept my money. I'm so angry.
Please help. The buyer's seller name is Misslauren083.

They have something very shady going on with their refund requests. I am a seller on Mecari and over 30 days ago I made a purchase and the item never left the post office.
A camera. We had to wait the 30 days and now I'm trying to hit cancel purchase and the select down options for reason do not exist for anyone to be able to his submit and finish the request. I have screenshot where I have tried 6 , 7 times. I contacted the people on mecari a week ago several time and no one is answers requests.
I need them to cancel it on their end bc their site is messed up. I am being charged late fees from zip for a payment for an item I never received. Idk why their company is ignoring my messages and the sellers messages as well. I will be contacting the news about this if I don't hear back from someone.
It does seem very shady what's going on here. You can't reach a human, you can't contact their headquarters on CA because every email you put in they reject it. I tried calling the number is continually rings once and hangs up. This business needs to be investigated.
I am contacting the authorities if I don't reach someone soon. This is unbelievable
