Sell your beautiful products elsewhere. Seller friendly sites like poshmark,Vestiaire or even ebay.

Worst resell apps are 1.

Mercari & 2. Depop payout system is dysfunctional & a setup particularly new sellers be very careful with inputting your financial information which they ask you to email because their payout system is very suspect.

If you are a seller, stay away from this site. Go to Poshmark, Vestiaire, or eBay.

Every time, and I do mean every time, a buyer wants to return something, no matter how right you know you are, Mercari takes the buyer's side, throwing the sellers under the bus every time. They allow the buyer to return in any condition, causing you to lose money on that sale and on resale. Some of the biggest scammers ever are on this site, and Mercari is complicit in the scam. There is no customer service to speak to.

All a customer has to say is 'it's not authentic'; it could be 100% authentic, and Mercari will agree with the buyer. Fees on sellers are outrageous, postal fees more than any other platform in resale. They are the worst. They want you to sell your items for less than nothing.

They will use or wear your items and return them because they know no matter what, Mercari will give them a refund.

Don't waste your time selling your best stuff here because they don't want to pay the price or buy, then use and return without any respect to the seller. Please be aware of this site, my fellow sellers.

It wasn’t resolved on their end. I refused the item and returned to sender and I’m waiting on a refund now.

I placed an order on 3/29/25. Mercari had to notify the seller to ship the item.

The seller provided a tracking number that has not been active until after I contacted Mercari chat this morning. Shipping has been red for almost 2 weeks as the seller hasn't responded to USPS with the package until today. I'm livid about this and will definitely close this account today.

This is by far the worst site to shop. They are definitely worse than Temu.

After an infuriating back-and-forth with a second customer service representative completely void of common sense and courtesy, which culminated in her ceasing to respond to my messages, a third gentleman chimed in. He apologized and said he understood my frustration and the hole isn't visible in any of the pictures, and informed me that my account had been credited.

So, I mean... yeah, that's cool and all. That also should've been the initial response. Before I contacted my bank who was going to investigate, and already reimbursed me.

That might be my best advice, actually. Especially if you don't have the fighting spirit that I do… use a card with a bank that will rectify things if they wont.

I tried calling the two numbers that I've seen… the 7482 number said that my call could not be completed at this time and the 2168 number does not have live support in my area, which I tried for a number of the menu options just to be sure it wasn't exclusively returns with that issue.

The seller uploaded six photos that were strategically positioned to conceal the fact that there was *** in the heel, nor did she mention it in the description.
So I reported having an issue and uploaded photos to show that there was *** or a bite, or ::something::, missing from the heel of the sneaker. I was told that my photos of the item aligned with the seller who had fulfilled her obligation by sending the item, and suggested if I was dissatisfied that I should sell the item... I kept trying to point out that the item was not as described because there was no mention of *** or image where *** is visible, and I still haven't gotten anywhere She kept saying that the item could not be returned unless it was not as described and for some reason that wasn't enough of a discrepancy.

According to this individual, it's the responsibility of the buyer to think of the worst case scenario and reach out to the seller and rule out the possibility of anything being wrong with the item...

You all been ducking and hiding my calls and emails i will be making sure to sue if this continues. All i needed was for my adress on file to be changed so i can transfer out. Im going to make sure everyone i know to never use this app again i promise that and i still am considering sueing.

Dispute with Mercari

I bought an electronic device from Mercari. It worked fine after we opened it.

Then, when we charged it overnight, the battery died immediately.

After taking it off the charger, you could not use the item. It does not work, and you have to know it by charging it.

The buyer said, mercari refused the return because it was related to sizing, the buyer said it didn't fit the way they wanted it to. yet, I have not been paid and I cannot get hold of anybody

Mecari harbors fraud and refuses to give me my own money back

I purchased this listing and the item was lost within a day of the item being shipped. I went back and looked at the pictures of the item and noticed all the coats in the pictures are slightly different.

Some of lapels are larger in some pictures vs. Others. Some of the pictures show 3 buttons on the sleeve vs 4 buttons. I was horrified as the coat in all the pictures are different.

I went back to track my item again and noticed the seller made an insurance claim on the lost package. So now the seller has money for a fake item. I look at the sellers reviews and he had canceled 65 transactions out of 129. With all of those cancelations resulting in insurance claims.

I called mecari with this information and they refused to refund my money for 30 days.

Even though the listing shows 4 different coats in the sellers listing, The seller has canceled almost half of their transactions, and the seller has already filed an insurance claim. Mecari USA is doing so poorly financial and so desperate to make money they are now harboring consumer fraudsters

A refund

Mercari - A refund

Why is it so hard to get in contact with someone about a refund? I sent a seller $100 plus for a specific item that I wanted to purchase, and the seller did not get in contact with me.

She knows that she gets notifications if something is sold, and now I'm waiting for my hundred dollars to come back to me, and he has not come back to me yet. I'm trying to reach someone at Mercari, and I have not gotten anything from anybody.

I'm highly upset because I don't have money to lose. This is the worst company that I've ever dealt with when it comes to buying objects and products.
