Buy nothing from this lying Cheating Mercari Platform because they blatantly allow buyer to steal from the seller .No help from mercari to help sellers get their returns back in the condition you shipped out. In fact they are complicit in the theft.
I have reported this company for theft & not covering damages by customer when returning items more than once for Damaged items, Missing Parts & unsecured Shipping sometimes out of spite. where they do nothing to rectify or hold customer accountable. This is to notify the public this company is a scam right along with scamming Customer. Sellers beware this company always allows & complicit in allowing the thefts & scamming by some customers against the sellers Products & inventory circumventing any of their so called return policies,& will do anything to get their money while throwing sellers under the bus in the process not caring that sellers are left at at the lost of money & resell abilities as long as they get their cut .
I am Boycotting & shouting from the roof on Public, Social Media, reported to BBA & utube where they advertise about this unacceptable illegal business Practices. I am Fed Up with this company & it's time to take action against them6

I placed an order on 3/29/25. Mercari had to notify the seller to ship the item.
The seller provided a tracking number that has not been active until after I contacted Mercari chat this morning. Shipping has been red for almost 2 weeks as the seller hasn't responded to USPS with the package until today. I'm livid about this and will definitely close this account today.
This is by far the worst site to shop. They are definitely worse than Temu.

Credit to my account.
After an infuriating back-and-forth with a second customer service representative completely void of common sense and courtesy, which culminated in her ceasing to respond to my messages, a third gentleman chimed in. He apologized and said he understood my frustration and the hole isn't visible in any of the pictures, and informed me that my account had been credited.
So, I mean... yeah, that's cool and all. That also should've been the initial response. Before I contacted my bank who was going to investigate, and already reimbursed me.
That might be my best advice, actually. Especially if you don't have the fighting spirit that I do… use a card with a bank that will rectify things if they wont.
I tried calling the two numbers that I've seen… the 7482 number said that my call could not be completed at this time and the 2168 number does not have live support in my area, which I tried for a number of the menu options just to be sure it wasn't exclusively returns with that issue.
So I reported having an issue and uploaded photos to show that there was *** or a bite, or ::something::, missing from the heel of the sneaker. I was told that my photos of the item aligned with the seller who had fulfilled her obligation by sending the item, and suggested if I was dissatisfied that I should sell the item... I kept trying to point out that the item was not as described because there was no mention of *** or image where *** is visible, and I still haven't gotten anywhere She kept saying that the item could not be returned unless it was not as described and for some reason that wasn't enough of a discrepancy.

According to this individual, it's the responsibility of the buyer to think of the worst case scenario and reach out to the seller and rule out the possibility of anything being wrong with the item...

Verified ReviewerMecari harbors fraud and refuses to give me my own money back
I purchased this listing and the item was lost within a day of the item being shipped. I went back and looked at the pictures of the item and noticed all the coats in the pictures are slightly different.
Some of lapels are larger in some pictures vs. Others. Some of the pictures show 3 buttons on the sleeve vs 4 buttons. I was horrified as the coat in all the pictures are different.
I went back to track my item again and noticed the seller made an insurance claim on the lost package. So now the seller has money for a fake item. I look at the sellers reviews and he had canceled 65 transactions out of 129. With all of those cancelations resulting in insurance claims.
I called mecari with this information and they refused to refund my money for 30 days.
Even though the listing shows 4 different coats in the sellers listing, The seller has canceled almost half of their transactions, and the seller has already filed an insurance claim. Mecari USA is doing so poorly financial and so desperate to make money they are now harboring consumer fraudsters

Why is it so hard to get in contact with someone about a refund? I sent a seller $100 plus for a specific item that I wanted to purchase, and the seller did not get in contact with me.
She knows that she gets notifications if something is sold, and now I'm waiting for my hundred dollars to come back to me, and he has not come back to me yet. I'm trying to reach someone at Mercari, and I have not gotten anything from anybody.
I'm highly upset because I don't have money to lose. This is the worst company that I've ever dealt with when it comes to buying objects and products.

I received a item broke and yall said I could return it no later than the 28th which was my birthday and it didn't say I had to drop it off on a certain time on the 28th just the 28th well I did and now yall saying yall can't give me my money even when the seller said she wouldn't touch anything so I could get my money

Beware of merchants selling fake products. I purchased Carolina Herrera Good Girl, and it is a fraudulent item.
It's not authentic. The item that was posted on the website is in a different color box, and the perfume bottle is a different color. Please see the attached photos.
I have filed a dispute with PayPal, and I'm very disappointed in Makari for not verifying if items that are being allowed to be sold on their website. They're being used as a platform for these merchants to sell their items without verifying or confirming the authenticity of the item.

- Locating items that are limited editions or no longer being sold retail anywhere conowing if the items are authentic
- Lot of hassle in trying to get your money back for something that is not as described
- And not knowing if the items are authentic

This website is horrible. Zero customer service.
Scammers can keep repeating the same scam over and over, not even changing profiles or the items listed, and Mercari does absolutely nothing to stop these crooks. You have 72 hours to check your package and report a problem, and after that, you're screwed. It's a garbage site with no support that allows lowlifes to steal your money with no recourse. If you buy or sell on this site, you deserve to get ripped off.
I would show my purchase as a scam, which I was refunded for, but Mercari scrubs the entire transaction off your purchase history! It's a shady website that knows about the scammers and tries to help cover up any wrongdoing!

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. The restored my account and I was able to get my money.
They said it was for 'prohibited conduct,' but didn't tell me what the prohibited conduct was and I didn't have any idea. I wasn't selling anything dangerous; my prices were more than fair, and I wasn't breaking any other rules. Anyhow, with a limited account, I cannot request payout. Mercari owes me $1,441.09.
I have mailed them two letters asking them to pay me and have written to them in the app many times. All I've gotten is an email saying they've looped in their payments and billing department.
It has been two weeks already and there hasn't been any other response. I don't know what else to do; I want my money!
